On the outskirts of Gelderland Ewijk (near Nijmegen) a new rural home took the place of an old, run-down farm.
This country house is characterized by its thatched roof, wooden shutters and clipped gables. This gives it a character that fits in with other buildings in the area, while maintaining its own unique appearance. Various contemporary details were added, such as the wooden columns on both sides of the front door, a French balcony on the first floor and the bay window with a beautiful view of the garden. Adjacent to the farm house we designed a rural barn. This barn also got a thatched roof, but in contrast to the main house it was finished with wood.
