Our clients bought a beautiful, spacious plot with forest in the surroundings of the Dutch city of Den Bosch. Their wish was to realize a lifecycle-proof and energy-neutral home with a modern look. Our design is characterized by a closed front and open rear. By making clever use of sight lines, all living spaces receive a lot of natural light every moment of the day. The kitchen has an important role in the design and logistics on the north side. Because the kitchen is linked to a vide, we also know how to bring sunlight and daylight into the kitchen from the other sides. On the floor plan, an open connection has been created in which various spaces, including the living kitchen, sitting room and lounge area, have their own place but are nevertheless connected to each other by the many sightlines that flow through the house. The rear facade is completely open and transparent, so that we involve the forest in the interior. At the front, the house is surrounded by a large garden wall with an indoor patio. Here you can sit out of the wind. The property is made of stone, steel and burned black Shou Sugi Ban wood.
We regularly design modern villas throughout the country. For example this renovation of a dated home into a modern villa.
