For O2 Capital Partners, we designed a luxurious and functional interior for their office in a monumental building in the Dutch village of Oosterbeek. On the attic floor, we created five additional workspaces, including a closed office, as well as a pantry, technical room, and restroom. The design exudes a modern, business-like atmosphere that perfectly aligns with the dynamic nature of the company.
The original space was dark and enclosed. In our design, we replaced some walls and placed elegant glass walls in other areas. This resulted in an open, light layout where functionality and visual spaciousness integrate. The glass walls create a harmony between privacy and transparency, significantly enhancing the spatial experience.
The existing space was dark and confined, which inspired us to strategically remove some walls and replace them with glass walls. This resulted in an open and transparent working environment.
Given the monumental character of the building, we were not allowed to add dormers. Instead, we chose a different solution to create a sense of spaciousness: a four-meter-long light well in the roof that fills the office with natural light. This creates a bright, lively space that promotes productivity.
With respect for the historical elements, such as the characteristic windows and beams, we carefully integrated these into the design. This allowed us to find a balance between the modern and the monumental, breathing new life into the office without losing sight of its past.
