As an architect and interior designer Bob is constantly looking for the perfect picture. Materials, colors, atmosphere… everything is considered carefully until a design emerges that he fully supports.
Before Bob started his office in 2010, he gained experience at various agencies in the field of architecture and interior. He not only learned the art of designing and selecting materials, he also became adept at making so-called artist impressions. These drawings now form the basis of almost all Bobs designs and are an essential part of the design process.
Thijs lives with inspiration. He is an architect, lighting designer, yoga teacher, DJ and in his spare time he prefers to lie on a surfboard in the sea. Since graduating from Eindhoven University of Technology, he has worked at various agencies on both exclusive architecture and interior assignments. Nature is a great source of inspiration for him. Life for me is all about energy. That is reflected in my work. When I start a project I ask myself: Who is going to live there and what does that person want to feel when they walk into their home?’ In addition to being an architect, Thijs is also a lighting designer. “Light is elusive. The best thing about light is that you always have to design it in relation to something else.”
Wiebke has been working at our agency since its foundation thirteen years ago. As a marketing and communication manager, she manages and coordinates all communication channels. From the website and magazines to social media and various external blogs. She keeps a close eye on developments in her field, but is also a great lover of modern architecture and interior design. It is therefore extra nice that she is immersed in all the beauty in this area every day.
Joep’s double specialization in architecture and structural design makes him a versatile force within our architectural office. This combination enables him to think a few steps ahead in the design process. Care, sharpness and simplicity. From answering the questions of clients to the elaboration in the smallest details. That makes strong and outspoken architecture. Besides architecture, his great passion is photography, because of this his visual ability is strongly developed. With this background, his affinity with making 3D renders is almost self-evident. Since 2014 Joep has been working at Bob Romijnders Architectuur + Interieur. After a trip to other agencies, Joep returns remotely from his new home in Porto.
Donna is a creative centipede and an organizer through and through. As an office manager, she is involved in the day-to-day running of the office and ensures that everything runs smoothly. She is the first point of contact for (potential) clients. Donna has had her own bridal shop and studio for years and knows what it is like to translate personal dreams and wishes into concrete results. ‘I love the dynamics of the people around me, and what I really enjoy is working on beautiful projects with an enthusiastic team. I love being surrounded by passionate professionals. Making beautiful things together and making clients happy and positively surprising, that’s cool!’
At a young age, Floortje dreamed of becoming an architect. She pursues this path with great passion and pleasure. She recently graduated as an architect from the Architecture program at the TU in Eindhoven. Additionally, she is in the final phase of her studies in Building Physics. In this combination, she combines her passion for architecture with the ambition to specialize in sustainability, material usage, and building technology. “The variety of projects at Bob Romijnders Architecture + Interior gives me a great opportunity to gain practical experience. The modern architectural and interior designs that come my way are a tremendous source of inspiration.” In addition to her studies in Building Physics and her work at our firm, Floortje is actively involved in high-level hockey.
Floor is a curious interior designer who loves art, design, architecture, textures and materials. After a career in healthcare and an adventure abroad, Floor came to the conclusion that her love for the field of architecture and interior went further than just admiring it. When she returned to the Netherlands, she therefore decided to completely change course, follow her heart and start the Interior Design and Styling course at the Jan des Bouvrie Academy. She graduated in 2020 and then worked as an independent interior designer on various projects.
‘The way in which users experience and experience a space is the starting point for the designs I make. The ultimate goal is that the client can identify with the design. Listening to the wishes of clients, I look for unexpected combinations and strive to exceed all expectations. Working together as a team creates the most surprising and optimal designs. That is why I really enjoy working with creative colleagues, each with their own expertise and vision in the field of spatial design. Bob’s extensive materials and samples library is a source of inspiration and I see it as a true candy store!’
After completing her internship, architecture student Lotte now works as an assistant structural draftsman at our architectural office. During the first two years of her studies, the design side of the profession aroused her interest. Every design is unique and distinctive. This means that for every technical elaboration you can be faced with surprises for which solutions have to be devised. Solution-oriented thinking and a perfectionist approach is something that really suits me. I like to design and think about how designs can actually be realised.’
At our architectural firm, all facets come together. ‘Beautiful projects, integration of architecture and interior and various specialisms that work closely together to arrive at a beautiful design. But also a design vision that is appropriate for this time. The internship has brought me a lot and I think it’s great that I can further develop into a structural engineer within this company.’
For many years Joost worked as a draftsman and work planner at a well-known Nijmegen contractor. But his great ambition of ‘designing and developing extraordinary houses at an architectural firm’ always haunted his head. At the beginning of 2022, he therefore made the switch to our office, where he now works on various projects with colleagues. His many years of practical experience and vision, supplemented by the construction-technical knowledge that he acquired during his HBO Architecture course, makes him a versatile force within our office.
‘I cycle twenty minutes a day to and from work. This is the ideal time to reflect on the projects we are working on and to gain new energy. My creativity then gets free rein.’
After completing her studies in Interior Design & Styling at the Jan des Bouvrie Academy, Babs Arts pursued a degree in Building Engineering at Avans University of Applied Sciences to further enhance her knowledge and skills in design and construction. Subsequently, she spent several years working as a construction technical draftsman at a medium-sized architectural firm.
At Bob Romijnders, she has the opportunity to merge her passion for interior and exterior architecture and work within a contemporary, spacious, and distinctive modern style. Babs enjoys incorporating playful (visual) lines, biophilic design, and her designs are distinguished by the use of natural materials. In every project, her aim is to create an element of surprise and the ultimate experience. Additionally, she strives to maximize the potential of each task through an integrated approach. This approach allows her creative and technical skills to truly shine.
Emerging talent Jacelijn Martens is fueled by a singular passion: crafting inspiring interior designs. Over the past four years, Jacelijn pursued her education in Architecture and Interior Design at Hogeschool Zuyd in Maastricht. To further hone her knowledge and skills, she will be completing her internship at our firm over the next few months. Jacelijn’s expertise and areas of interest predominantly reside within the realm of interior design, with a keen eye for the synergy between architecture and surroundings. During her leisure time, she enjoys venturing abroad to explore new cultures. “I take delight in drawing inspiration from the world around me—materials, colors, light, and textures all serve as my muse. I continually set myself challenges to craft unique combinations within my designs.”
