Our clients are the owners of a beautifully located but externally dated villa in a wooded area. They wished to give their home a complete transformation. In our design, we wrapped the existing structure of the villa in a second skin. A distinctive feature of this design is the long slatted facades, which serve both an aesthetic and practical purpose: providing sun and heat protection as well as privacy. We also proposed a new roofline and suggested limewashing the existing facades, giving the villa a partially renewed appearance. Considering the villa’s location amidst nature, we opted for warm, natural materials, allowing the home to blend seamlessly into its surroundings. Furthermore, the various outdoor spaces are optimally connected to the landscape. The wooden structures at the rear of the villa are designed to eventually be covered with climbing plants, further enhancing the harmony between the interior and exterior.

In our design, we wrapped the existing structure of the house with a second shell.
