Wine bar Buskens - History meets contemporary flair

The building is characterized by high ceilings, rich detailing, elegant paneling, and an impressive façade with a covered terrace. Behind the building is a large hall, formerly used for parties and events. In our design, we connected the front and rear spaces by breaking through the authentic back wall. Here, we placed large bronze frames while preserving the original ornaments and details. We conducted a historical color study to rediscover and reapply the original colors.

A highlight at the entrance is the bar, with a large tree at its center, forming the heart of the characteristic original skylight. The rear hall is spacious with limited natural light, except for a few skylights. The closed walls feature cabinets displaying a wide range of wines. In the rear area, we lowered the ceiling with organic shapes to break the vastness and add a touch of playfulness. This theme is echoed in the rounded shapes of the seating and tables, giving the space a playful and airy feel.
